Is it possible to practice agriculture without practicing destruction ?

money [Mar. 26th, 2017|01:49 pm]

"People who live without money are really just leeching off of everyone else who do use money."
- I paraphrase this from this movie.

Living with money provides the same illusion: You can say of yourself that you have taken responsibility for yourself, hiding that you live because of the sum of all the gifts that you have received.

Or maybe it is just a preference: I prefer to think of us as Even-Steven, rather than to be in your debt because you have given me this gift.

But then what is debt?

I am trying to find the central function of money:
1. To assure that nobody has taken more than they have earned.
2. To say "Thank You!"
3. To show that you mean it.
4. To keep score.
5. To answer the question: "Do I have enough?"
6. To say: "I love you."
7. To make it a number.
This begs the question: What is "it"?
What a mystery!

so apparently it is a thing in Germany to sue your employer to remain employed there. to me this seems a lot like suing your ex to stay married to you.

So, we here it a lot that the top 1 percent possess way more of the wealth than the rest.

Here is what seems to me to be a more interesting question:

What percentage of resources do the 1 percent use in comparison to everyone else ?

I am thinking in terms of ( for example ): water, land area, energy, labor, wildlife, air quality, carbon, ...
